What is a Ceramic Coating?
Ceramic Coating is a chemical polymer solution that is applied to the exterior of a vehicle to protect it from external paint damage. A coating is applied by hand, it blends with the paint of your vehicle and creates an additional hydrophobic layer protection.
What does a Ceramic Coating do?
Ceramic coating protects your vehicle paint from blemishes and damage while keeping it cleaner for longer. After application, it also makes follow-up car washes easier and shields the vehicle from harmful UV rays. Ceramic coating creates intense water beading and dirt rub-off and gives a car an extremely glossy shine.
MYTH ABOUT CERAMIC COATING
What a ceramic coating does not do!
- Ceramic Coatings will not make your paint rock chip resistant. In order for a vehicle to be chip rock resistant it will have to be protection by PPF (PAINT PROTECTION FILM) that will absorb the impact without causing damage. In this case, coating does not do that.
- Ceramic Coatings are Self-Healing. It is not a self-healing product. It will need maintenance to help keep the coating to last longer so the coating will not decrease its protecting over the time of the coating.
- Become scratch proof after coating is applied. One thing is being scratch proof and scratch resistant. The coating will help resist scratches but will not make it scratch proof. If the coating is not taken care of properly the swirls and scratches will come back from improper maintenance car wash or going through automatic car wash.
- Ceramic Coating does not make your vehicle bulletproof. Some think that having a coating will make your vehicle bulletproof. Well that is not the case a coating is a great layer of protection for your vehicle but its not that strong.
